Paramount Property: Leading the Way in Sustainable Development with Planters
In a significant step towards sustainability, Paramount Property has collaborated with Planters International Berhad to repurpose vegetative waste generated from their development sites. Through this partnership, 36 tonnes of vegetative waste have been sent to Planters’ processing center to be transformed into biomass for carbon capture. This effort demonstrates Paramount Property’s openness to exploring sustainable practices that contribute to a greener future.
Turning Waste into Opportunity
In the construction and development industry, vegetative waste—such as fallen trees, branches, undergrowth, and other natural debris—is often discarded or burned, contributing to environmental harm. Paramount Property, however, is beginning to rethink how such waste can be handled. Instead of allowing it to go to waste, they worked with Planters to repurpose the debris into biomass, a material that can play an essential role in carbon sequestration.
The 36 tonnes of vegetative waste collected from Paramount Property’s development sites were processed into biomass, showcasing the potential for reducing the environmental impact of development projects. This approach aligns with broader sustainability goals, providing an opportunity to test and refine more sustainable practices within the industry.
Pioneering a Path Towards Sustainability
While this initiative is still in its exploratory stages, Paramount Property’s collaboration with Planters highlights the potential of integrating sustainable waste management practices into the development process. By taking this initial step, the company demonstrates its interest in aligning with environmentally responsible practices, paving the way for more comprehensive implementation in the future.
Some potential benefits of such practices include:
A Collaborative Effort Towards Green Practices
Paramount Property’s initiative serves as an example of how developers can begin exploring sustainable approaches to development. While these efforts are still in the early stages, they demonstrate the value of collaboration with organizations like Planters, which provide expertise in repurposing vegetative waste into biomass. Together, such collaborations can help the industry move closer to more sustainable practices.
Planters International Berhad is proud to partner with Paramount Property in this effort and hopes that this initiative will serve as a stepping stone for further integration of environmentally friendly practices within the industry.
Join the Journey Towards Sustainability
Paramount Property’s efforts to repurpose vegetative waste highlight the importance of testing and implementing sustainable practices in the development industry. By collaborating with Planters, they have taken the first step in exploring how waste can be transformed into valuable resources for carbon capture.
We invite other developers to take inspiration from this initiative and begin exploring sustainable practices in their own projects. Together, we can work towards reducing the environmental impact of development and creating a greener future.
