‘Durian Musang King’ trees had been cut because it’s HSK status.
Pahang state government decided to cut down the ‘durian musang king’ tress that was planted illegally in Batu Talam, Raub which is considered as Hutan Simpan Kekal (HSK).
Citing a report from the Pahang Media portal, Menteri Besar of Pahang, Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail said, it has become the policy of any HSK not to be planted with durian trees.
According to him, if there are durian trees in the HSK area, it will be an attractive factor for people to enter the area at will.
"Whoever wants to enter the HSK area needs to get permission first and it is an offense to enter without permission," he said as reported by Pahang Media.
The state government would take back its rights despite facing many obstacles and remain firm in that regard. - Wan Rosdy
He reported that area of illegal ‘musang king’ has been cut down in the enforcement operation at HSK Batu Talam had been defined by the court.
According to him, the State Government's Legal Adviser had referred the matter back to the Court of Appeal earlier to identify the area of the ‘musang king’ illegal plantation involved in the stay order.
In his statement on July 5, Wan Rosdy asserted that the enforcement work carried out only involved illegal plantations of about 101.17 hectares, including those planted with ‘durian musang king’ in HSK Batu Talam.
He said the allegation that the enforcement operation violated the order of the Court of Appeal was not true because the enforcement work was carried out outside the durian orchard area owned by Royal Pahang Durian Resources PKPP Sdn Bhd.
